I realized today that I get asked a lot:

1. What is public health? &

2. What do I like about public health?

It’s like the saying goes, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

I like public health because it’s about teaching people how to fish or more literally take care of themselves before they even get sick in the first place. With how expensive health care is the best way to lower your medical bill is to be healthy and some people don’t know how to be. While I will admit that I personally could be healthier, I like the idea of being able to help people and that is something that I think I could be happy with doing for the rest of my life.
